Unscrambled!

The deadly detour has finally ended,
Am moving away from brains that are twisted.
As I dust away the unwanted and unlearn the verses,
Deep sense of purpose and righteousness emerges.

I am left with humble feelings,
The urge to understand life's true meaning.
I feel closer to my values and heritage,
Freed from all knots and no more in rage.

Holding on close to who's and what's  important,
Relieved at what puffed out of the vent.
Life has reorganized and rebased itself,
Its easy to fit in now and get out of the shelf.

No sense of hatred or enemity exists,
After all my heart is only the size of my first.
It's over filled with joy and peace,
And I found out I am in love with cheese!

I am in, are you?

With so many incidents of attacks made on the dignity of women across the country, there are many people writing about it and expressing anger. Blaming men and asking parents to focus on the upbringing of their sons. No matter how much we play the blame game, we ALL need to together build a system that can *prevent* such issues.
Of course it all starts at home. Please have open conversations with your kids (girls and boys). Talk to them about good and bad touches. Have an environment where kids can openly talk about problems related to this and also they should be taught how to respect the opposite sex.
Big responsibility lies on the shoulders of women. Not only can you teach these morals to kids in your family but you can do the same with the kids of your maid/helper/watchmen. I am solely banking on women for this because of the motherly instinct and easy communication with kids. If men can do it too then its great. It's necessary to understand that kids who are not taught morals or principles at a young age tend to grow up and take things for granted. Labourers and maids hardly have any time for their kids and that is the last thing on their mind. Please educate them and their kids. Spend some time once in a month to inculcate the sense of responsibility. Take them along with you to mandir/mosque/church once a year to inculcate values. Think of this as an investment you are making for the safety of your own kids. Any misbehaviour at young age should be immediately attended to. Teachers should also take the responsibility of not ignoring such things and paying special attention to kids who show signs of disrespect to the opposite sex. We all need to be aware that this is a growing problem and the responsibility lies on us. I remember when I was young, a boy on the streets would pass lewd comments on all girls passing by and we would think of him as the dirt you never want to even look at. A grandpa in my society went up to him and casually took him out for tea. Whenever possible he would spend some time with this guy and slowly turned this guy around. Do we ever do this? Have we ever tried to approach the problem in its face? Please don't tell me "why should I waste my time in explaining all these stupid people". Trust me, this is the best investment we can make. A better society exists only when people in it are aware and always working towards it. If we want to spend time outside safely, we need to make sure that the environment is safe. Either we can mark it unsafe and be at home or take the responsibility of making it safe. After all, everyone is a human being and has great capacity. We should definitely push for stringent laws but if you think that a death penalty will scare such monsters then you are wrong. Rather uproot this monster and also think of it this way, you are helping a fellow human being live a better life and that person in turn can help build a better society. I agree that some people are beyond this and nothing can change their hopeless mindset. For such people we will push for the death penalty :)
All I am saying is that, let's try to become an alert society and let's clean the dust ourselves!

Happiness is not a rare element!

Dealing with mean/hateful people has always been the greatest challenge for me. It makes you question your own ideas and life. To the extent that you start hating yourself. You start believing everything that such people have to say to you. You start thinking on the lines of "what did I do that is making these people say such things about me".
When I started talking to other people, I realised that almost everybody I knew is "blessed" with such kind of people. It could be a family member or friend or Boss or colleague. And there is one thing common in all these mean people, lack of satisfaction in their own lives. There is something so hugely lacking in their own life and instead of working towards it, these people think it is better to make sure nobody else got it. When I cannot be happy, why let others be happy! Not many people take failure or loss gracefully and end up being very negative and spread this negativity in the lives of all the people that surround them. It's really sad especially when you yourself are dealing with failures and trying to be as positive as possible rather than being the monster that such people are.

So there are two things that we need to focus on:
1) How not to get affected by such people
2) How not to become one of them

How not to get affected by such people:
*************************************
Someone very close to me once told me "Some people just cant find positive in anything no matter what". I found this very helpful to change my perspective. No matter what I do or say, these people will always find something negative. So it's not my take if they are upset over something because when I can choose to be positive and move ahead in life, it's their problem if they choose to be all sulky about it. Once I realised that it was not my fault (phew!) I decided to simply ignore. I decided not to give power to the people who can hurt me. Not to give importance to their words or opinions as they would just bring me down. It's extremely difficult to do this because generally these people are very close to you and you always thought their opinion matters. But it does not! If someone tells me that I am vicious and pretentious , then I don't think they are in their right mind because I am anything but that. Physical distance would be the best option , but considering you are stuck with such people for lifetime, learn to cut them off from your mind. Again, EXTREMELY difficult, but best solution.

How not to become one of them:
**************************************
Negative energy is very strong and can easily engulf you. It wont be long before you start sulking about things. Always keep a check on yourself " Am I becoming the person I dont want to be with". It's necessary to consciously keep yourself surrounded with people with positive mindsets and absorb their energy. Secondly, let go! My mind loves to rewind and play all the mean things that people have ever told me. Then it makes me conclude that I am indeed all those opinions. Next thing I know, I dont feel like getting off my bed. And I start looking for bad things in other people just to justify that others are more terrible than I am. Its a cycle in which you can get stuck forever. The only way to break this is to let go. Forgive and forget or you will always be revengeful and sour.

Last but not the least, have faith in God and be kind to one another! (sounds all preachy huh?)
Well, fact is fact!
Happiness is not a rare element, its found in abundance in people who choose to experience it and spread it :)

How private finance can tumble your world like a stack of cards !

I am no finance expert and I don't know how stock market works. I hardly know any big finance words and I rarely read business news. But I do know how taking finance from a private source almost ruined my friend's life and took the life out of many others.
First, let me explain what the term "private finance" means.
If you want to borrow some money for personal/business use, ideally you would approach the bank (considering low interest rates and security). The bank asks you to provide security in the form of a property/gold/any asset that you possess which can also be the stock/goods in case of a business. Now there can be two issues :
1) You *desire* to get a loan of say about Rs.1 Crore and the bank sanctions only say about Rs.50 lakhs after evaluating the security you provided.
2) Bank process is taking too much time and you *think* you cannot wait any more.
Any of the above two happens and then starts the panic mode. The mode which shuts down your ability to evaluate the situation with a straight mindset.
If you are lucky enough, you will find a relative/friend who is ready to loan you the required amount with minimum/no interest and without any security. (Voila! Your wildest dream comes true)
But considering the fact that we are not related to the likes of Ambani :) we are now in panic mode because we have already made huge commitments without any money at hand.
Now comes in the villain - The private financier !
He has been waiting for this opportunity when all doors will close for you and you *believe* that you are a loser.
You would never think of approaching him but he is right there and you would never realize how you ended up at his door. He walks in with his confident gait, making you believe that he knows the trade in and out and you are just another client. While secretly, he is hoping that you will fall for this and he can make his living out of you.
Private financiers have lot of money. So you would assume that its his business and just like banks finance, he finances privately. But you do not know that they are like the Dementors in Harry Potter movies. They will suck out every penny and make you so helpless that you will fear for your life.
Why I hate private financiers?
They will also take a security like a property/gold. They will transfer the property to their name and take possession of the gold. They will charge you with interest rates that are exorbitantly high (I know of cases where they charged interest rate which was 6 times that of the bank). They will make you believe that they are doing a huge favour on you. They will tell you they want the principle back in 2-3 months, hence you would feel that you have to bear the high interest rate only for a couple of months.

What you need to see through -
1) If the bank is not giving you more than Rs.50 lakh and if your relative is not Ambani, you need to understand that you need to work with Rs.50 lakh only. No matter what your plans are , no matter what you want to do with the money, you need to stick to this amount and have patience. If you want to grow your business, use this money and create your own capital. If you need it for a marriage, realize that short term glory is of no use if its going to cause long term pain.

2) The private financier is never looking for the principal amount. He wants you to never return it back. He wants you to pay interest as long as you can. And in turn he will make you feel obliged. With the kind of interest amount you are paying, he will have covered his principal amount in no time and then when you finally give up and refuse to pay interest, he will gobble up your security!

3) Private financiers do not appreciate paper work :) So basically even if you want to approach a court, all you have got is a paper which says that you have registered the property on his name and he has paid you the amount. There will be no mention that you are paying interest for that amount and that you intend to take back the property.

I have personally seen so many people fall for this. Its sad to see people who were once charged in life and wanted to make it large are now either struggling to survive or caught in the pangs of depression.

Its just mind boggling how the timing and situation can numb out your capacity to think through. But everyone of us needs to know about this and be aware!

PS : I might have missed out a lot of points and areas of concern. I cant stress on this point enough but I hope you guys are getting the gist of it.
Private Finance = NO NO NO !!

Back with a bang !

It's that time of the year, every year,
I get an urge to write and my mind is clear.
I wonder if this is just a silly coincidence,
or is February the month my blog takes precedence?

I read through the old ones and a story emerges,
my life seems dramatic full of verses.
I dont have to ponder on what to write,
It's like recording my life byte by byte.

I feel a difference this time this year,
Like I have found something which is very dear!
My head feels light and my heart feels pumpy,
Looks like I found her, the girl who was quirky !

I feel motivated, positive and get the gist,
Happiness and problems can co-exist.
The joy is surreal and very divine,
O' devil mind don't snatch away what's mine !

Out of my mind!

I can feel the pain,
yet cannot shout in vain.
Days, months and years have gone by,
I wonder why am still giving it a try!

Something is lacking, something essential,
my life is locked with a missing credential.
I know what I want, I know what I need,
Is my fortune really all out of good deed?

Pages from my old diary are staring at me,
wondering how I landed in this crazy spree.
Cannot find more words to rhyme,
Paused in my mind and running out of time !

My cup of coffee!

Sitting on a bench at Necklace Road I am trying to recharge myself. Trying to zone out and keep away disturbing thoughts. Sometimes all it takes is a cup of coffee and a decent novel combined with a breath of fresh air to get back the kick. Life is definitely a journey, a quick one. In the whole rush of things there are moments of joy and then there are the low ones. But when everything stops, when there is no work to do or any task to attend to, one cant help but entertain the thoughts which provoke you to want more out of life. The urge to understand the purpose of life. There are very few people who I know can answer that question and I have got the opportunity to meet few such people. Who just know the purpose of their lives. Who are satisfied.
While others like me are too stubborn to accept the purpose of their lives.
Ah... so much for trying to keep the disturbing thoughts away!
Anyway, I feel charged!
The thought of getting up early tomorrow and going for a jog seems interesting to me now, isn't that something?! :D
There are times when you will feel very dejected in life, that is the time to stop whatever you are doing/trying to do, and get out there and get a breath of fresh air and a fresh outlook. The problem will no more feel in-surmountable!

This too shall pass!

When I was a little child, my little problems seemed impossible to deal with. I apparently smacked a lady's ass for blocking my view in a queue. How frustrated the little me must have been! Years later I wrote my board exams and was extremely worried when I realized that my solution to a math question was wrong. I came back home and tried to beat myself up.Later I did not get into BITS and it felt like the world cannot offer me anything that would bring joy to my heart. Well, that phase passed and I got into Qualcomm and got married ... and... this and... that....
My problems in the past always looked small compared to what I had to face today. I think that's the reason  why they compare life to a journey. As you keep moving ahead things/events that pass by look so insignificant compared to what is right ahead of you.
Well, the point is, the phase ALWAYS passes.
And no matter what you want, no matter what you badly wish for, what has to happen will happen. Call it destiny, karma, coincidence, whatever!
There will be a day when things will make sense, when the worst times you have been through will not feel suicidal, when you will learn to be optimistic and accept that it was not your fault and you did the best you could.....
And this a cycle, the moment you feel good or are ready to move ahead there will be some other problem waiting for you! But you know what, good or bad, this too shall pass!

It is time for the NEW!

Yes! It's my same old 'New' year resolution... to continue writing my blog.
Its 2013 and my last blog update says .. "Monday, February 14, 2011".... What the hell?!
Its only now am realizing that I haven't been doing so many things for a looooong time, and what amazes me is that, the things that I have given up on are the things that I actually love to do!
So WHY did I do something like this?
Well, simply put.... Neither am I a professional writer nor a dancer. So unless I strictly keep some time for myself its going to take me another two years to get started on it.
So what do we have here? A brand new new year resolution :D
I have learnt that unless I don't keep in mind that I am going to be supremely busy this year too and that expecting too much out of myself will just depress me, I am going to end up making impossible resolutions.
So lets keep it simple!
So this year...every sunday morning I am going to lie lazily on my bed and write a blog... and am going to attend a minimum of 2 of my dance classes per month.
Go ahead and brew up some possible, practical, fulfilling and not-hard-on-yourself resolutions!
A resolution which wont hammer your head! :)
yeah.. well... if you don't happen to hear from me for a certain number of sundays then please expect a depressing blog to follow!

Fly high !

Ever wondered what it takes,
To put up a smile that's fake.
Forcing yourself to be glued onto a place,
While your mind runs at a faster pace.

Encouraging your child to give his best,
Knowing what follows is a bigger test.
A fine hotel is where you are expected to dine,
But you cherish streetside food more than the wine.

Reciting your prayer religiously everday,
Without thinking if you mean what you say.
Learning an art with total dedication,
While another being your fascination.

It takes a heart that's not strong,
One which does not object what's wrong.
You compromise and always lie,
Ever wondered why you don't fly!!

jhoota (aka shoe) hi sahi !

What was I thinking? And what were the people who wrote reviews for this movie thinking? I mean ... OH MY GAWD ! This is like the worst movie of all times.
I am going to be point blank here because I dont want people to be mislead by those "kind" reviews for this movie.
First I would like to talk about the actress. Pakhi Tyrewala ! The wife of the director (no wonder!) and also the scriptwriter of the movie :O :O
This lady (I am giving her all the respect right now because my criticism is going to make her want to kill herself!) gave a tough competition to John Abraham. I did not understand who should I blame for the pounding headache I was experiencing in the theatre. Its not at all wrong to be flabby or to not have a perfect figure. But its a sin to wear some sleeveless gown-frock-drape kind of thing and move your flabby arms around when you dont even know how to dance. For the love of god, atleast try ... TRY... to look decent.
I would not blame the actress completely for a movie, thats unfair. So I would also like to blame the scriptwriter, oh wait a minute, that's her again ! Argh, seriously ?!
And am sure Abbas Tyrewala was just too scared that she will drop him dead with that arm of her's that he did not even try to tell his starcast to act.
Now coming to the "hero". Why is John Abraham like... umm... what's that word... eehhh..... FAT!!!
He is not cute, he is not handsome and his hands now seem to be too small or rather not proportional to his body. This guy first of all never ever knew how to act. But still girls would watch his movie because he was handsome amd dashing. Last night, the girl next to me went "ewwwww" on a close-up shot of John Abraham.
I rest my case your honor !
I spent 150 bucks on the movie.. and then another 100 bucks to eat something so I would not have to concentrate on the headache I was getting and then another 10 bucks for a tablet !
So please... pretty please... dont do this to yourself. Save your souls and even if this movie comes on TV please just dont watch it.

A Refreshing Experience !

Some images are imprinted on your brain forever. I was so amazed to view one such landscape.
I was really looking forward to this trek to Nagari. It was supposed to be the much needed break! A break from so many things.... And exploring nature turned out to be the best way to escape from all that..
I dont want to describe the whole trek like a Karan Johar movie ;) Just the best parts, because in this trek I learnt from someone that its best to not remember the bad things/memories!
So the "wow" moments are:
  • I was looking down and walking for like 5 Kms. Trying to not hit my toes to the stones on the way and balancing myself. Suddenly the clouds cover the sun and I look up and there are these gigantic mountains with huge rock formations on them. Green lush forests with dead drop silence.Awesome.
  • Holding a rope and crossing the waterfall to go from level 1 to level 2. Whattey experience! (People who attended this trek will know what am talking about)
  • The night spent at the waterfalls ! Three of us were sitting on a staircase which leads to a small bridge across the stream. Just 20 feet away is the waterfall almost 40 feet high. Its dark and we have no lights whatsoever. The moonlight falling on the water... fireflies suddenly lighting up the scene from no where ... singing the song "kaisi hai yeh rut ki jisme....".....oh my god... There are too many descriptions but then I can never even get close to describing the reality. Trust me , am not a person who exaggerates !
  • Swimming in the pool of water just below the waterfall. Well technically I was not swimming at all but then the water was so cold that I could not make myself to move :P
  • The camp fire... having hot soup in the night and noodles in the morning !
  • The porcupine quill we found on the way back , which was then given to me as a gift from the boys ! :)
It is amazing how this non tourist spot turned out to be so much fun. trekking is all about pushing yourself beyond your comfort level, exploring new places and meeting awesome people :)
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the guys who picked up my bags and pushed me to walk when I was totally tired out and acting like a baby ! :P
Looking forward to many more !!!!!!

I am my worst enemy !

"you are fit for nothing!"
"Oh my god you look so ugly"
"you have a big nose and big feet"
"There are so many things you could not achieve in life, how can you still look at yourself in the mirror and not feel worthless?!"
Yes, that's me !
I try so hard to be polite to everyone else around me that I never realized that I was being rude and unfair to someone, myself!
I don't have much to say about this, but just that I have realized.
And no matter how much effort its going to take am going to kill this worst enemy of mine,my attitude towards myself.
It's only when I give myself some respect and love that I should be expecting it from others.
A big hug to me <> :)
It's a tough life girl but am sure you can make it.
Don't take any bull shit from anybody, not even yourself ;)

Trying hard to "live" !

It's good to feel that every moment of your life is precious. That every moment should be lived in the best of possible ways. But isn't it just too much pressure ?!
You feel like you should be doing something every moment. Read a book or may be watch a movie or study some books or go play !! It's bugging when you are not able to enjoy the idle time just doing nothing and lazing around since you start to feel that you are just doing "nothing".
I try to remember what I used to do as a kid. I had exams to prepare for and loads of friends to hang out with and when I had nothing to do I would just sit and laze around. Stare at the ceiling lost in some crazy thought.
Today also I have some deadlines I have to meet and some social functions am supposed to attend. But life feels very incomplete. The need to be doing more and making life more enriching occupies my mind all the time. I guess I just need to let go of it. But not as easy as it sounds.
It's not like I am not doing anything about it. But as adults its just very difficult to satisfy this need and be contended :P
Well may be I should just let go of this whole concept and do what i gotta do!

No where to go . . . .

There have been so many moments in my life where I feel like my legs have been tied to some heavy weights and I am thrown into the storms of the ocean ..trying my level best to escape .. to survive .. but the burden is keeping me from coming up.
The feeling of helplessness is a torture.
You know what you want... but you cannot do anything about it. It could be because you are not the decision maker or it could be because nobody believes in you or trusts you.
These are the tough times when you either get frustrated and lose your temper on someone very close to you or you learn to have some patience in life and give it some time.
I truly believe that it is very difficult for someone to guess my behavior patterns because they vary like crazy. There have been times when I have yelled at people and then there are times that I gave up on thinking about it and decided to let time a.k.a God :P handle it .
Am stuck in a similar situation today. And i really really do not know what to do.
Things have always been good for me and no matter what twists the curve of my life has taken its always been a blessing. Today also am dusting myself and standing up with the belief that its all going to be fine! Its just this phase ,of not knowing whats going to happen and if things will actually happen the way I want them to, that really bums me out :(
Hoping for the best for myself and for all the people involved !

Aam ras !

It's summer time and obviously am feeling nostalgic and missing so many things !!

When in school, on the day of our last exam we would have a class party(I miss the concept of potluck). It was so thrilling to see what food items the other kids have got for the party. The excitement of growing up and going to the next standard was amazing.I miss gobbling up so much food and looking forward to a happy summer vacation.

Summer vacations were about so many things..
Going to my grandma's place in Maharashtra... riding a bicycle in the afternoon without caring about getting tanned :P ...playing with all my cousins.. MANGOES !! yumm..

I would always go for a hair cut in the summer because i wanted to look "different" at school :D I remember getting a boy cut done once.. It felt so nice to not have to take care of my hair ! Maybe I should get one done again :P

I miss lazing around on the sofa and watching useless things on tv.I miss having plenty of time at hand to talk to my friends, to play, to do things my mom would never approve of. I miss sleeping on the roof at my grandma's place and cooking up stories in my head while gazing at the stars above.
I basically miss the plain stupidity and innocence of childhood and doing absolutely nothing !

I forgot to mention some things...
Dolly - I miss the thumping (:P) sound of your footsteps leading to my home and the non-stop laughing !
Kinni - ofcourse I remember and miss the Biryani at class party :D
Utsav,Anu and Matt - I miss the time we all spent together in the vacation after inter.. It was just brilliant !

It's all about a wedding...

I never thought that a single wedding will change so much about me,about the way i think.
I obviously cannot write down such personal stuff here :P so am going to just talk about the wedding.
It was my childhood dream to see my brother get married before me. No matter what we fought about he would always go like "you are going to be kicked out of this house soon". I cant express how happy I am. Earlier it was a wicked evil laughter but now am all smiles and happy for him.
Weddings are really such beautiful events. Its really magical how with so many things going wrong in the end everything feels right and everyone is so happy !
I dont really know much about how a marriage works out but I can tell you for sure how to have a perfect wedding :P
And wedding is not just the D-day but all the days that go into the planning of that day and all the ceremonies that happen throughout.
I never thought "I" would ever say this but am definitely looking forward to one wedding :D
For those people out there going " how lame !" or " kya?!" ... well ... i know :|
In fact i feel there will be a day when i will read this post and go like that myself :P
Anyhow...
Please feel free to call me to your weddings and i will be there right from where everything begins !

PS: Yes NOW you can LOL

Re-introducing... ME !!!

Its been so long that I have written anything......... I wanted to write something philosophical and enlightening... but I got bored myself :P (trust me i tried !)
I mean who does not know what is "right" and what is absolutely "wrong".
It's like in God's laboratory , under ideal conditions, we are all great human beings.
But when you bring us down to earth and under these changed conditions, the environment screws up our brain bad. So i say give us the adequate conditions and you shall receive the ideal behavior.
I mean you throw such crappy people around me and expect me to be a saint.. high expectations i say :P
Alright alright... am kidding...
You see its been so long that I penned down my thoughts that they have all gone haywire !
So this piece of work is supposed to be a sample and in any case cannot be used against me in the court of law :D

Brummmm Brummmm !!

Everyday I take the 6:40 PM cab from office and leave for home. I get dropped near my place at around 7:10 PM. So the travelling time is 30 minutes. Then it takes me another 15 minutes to reach home :O Not because I walk slow..( well I do but really.. am not that slow) All I have to do is cross a road with major peak hour traffic .
I somehow achieve to cross half the road and then keep standing on the median waiting for the traffic to slow down to cross the second half. Thats the point when I feel like I am going to die.. and you know what one day maybe I WILL !!

So anyway... Life was hell trying to cross these roads since the traffic is non stop and there is no traffic signal or a bridge anywhere close by.
So everyday I would risk my life and cross these roads...

Then one day.. I was stuck on the median for almost 5 minutes... and the traffic was terrible... Buses were going by with great speeds and I was getting the feeling that the wind will make me lose my balance.. It was scary ! I was wondering how I should cross the road when suddenly a Black car came to a halt right in front of me.
I looked at the driver.. He was an old man.. He looked at me and waved at me signalling me to cross the road.. I ran for my life.
After i crossed the road I was amazed at how thoughtful that uncle was to actually have stopped the car for me to cross the road... :)

I dont remember the model of the car or that man's face... but am sure my good wishes must have reached him.

Well next day of course was the same old story... me fighting my way out of that traffic..
And yes when i tried stopping some cars the drivers yelled at me like I was some crazy women..
Well that made me realise how kind that old man was...
Its really unbelievable how some people... driving in this crazy traffic.. bearing this pollution and all the noise... are capable of thinking about other people !

And yes... My journey through the cars still continues !!

There are so many things i always wanted to do. But either i don't have time for them or i just tend to forget that i ever wanted to do those things :(
So I thought why not make a list of things i want to do.. in my lifetime.. (Not before 30 or before 40... I would be more than happy if i JUST DID IT !!... But again the question arises that am i sure i will live so many years to do them? so why not do them asap!!... hmmm....)
