A walk to remember !
I was a little apprehensive about it.. Walking from KBR park to Mindspace is not a joke! And holding banners all along was a complete different level !! But i wanted to experience it.. Wanted to be a part of this rare walk.
The intention was to walk to work with banners carrying messages asking people to "JUST DO IT"... to go and VOTE !
We were just 5 people who started off the walk from KBR park at 7AM. The others kept joining us all along the way. We met like minded people at the starting point who were also working for the same cause. It was really fascinating to know this aspect of the world around me. There was a lady in a car who stopped by to take one our banners so she could put it up on the rear glass of her car :) I realized... There are lots of people who are enthusiastic about this big event! The elections !
It was a little awkward initially .. to walk on the roads this way.. wondering if people will laugh at us .. or mock at us.. But all this awkwardness disappeared for me when an INDICA car (a taxi) halted in the middle of the road for me to cross it !! These taxi guys never stop for anyone !!
It was a very insignificant walk for most of them.. but for me it has been the rarest experience of all..
a)For 3 hours.. I had only one thought in my mind.. a hope.. that lots of people will read my banner and atleast some will be inspired by it.
b)At the end of it.. I felt more connected to the whole cause.. It felt like i was a "part" of this system.
c) I was the only girl to finish the 8Km walk !!
I am hoping all of you will vote and choose a leader who will meet your's and the country's standards!
- Vote is our fundamental duty.
-Young India's plea.. Act friends, dont flee.
-Stop complaining,start voting !!!

The cycle of psychological suffering !
I am frustrated.. I do not feel happy... The review cycle has begun at work and people are expected to write strong points about themselves and give "valuable" feedback about others. People tell me its no big deal.. Its a part of the corporate world.. but it annoys me..
The first question in the appraisal form........
What are my major accomplishments for the past six months?
Its been 3 days and am still staring at the form... I am sure if I was Obama or may be even a part of the terrorist group in Pakistan i would have something to pen down. The past six months all i did was do the work assigned to me and learn some new stuff which looked interesting. I did not go EUREKA or shoot down a terrorist.
I am still staring at the form !!
What do I feel are my greatest strengths in this position?
Do they want me to quit out of shame? :(
I mean already its difficult for me to talk positive about myself.. and now i have to like write it down and it will remain as proof for years to come :|
My manager will ROFL after reading it.. and say ya rrright !!!
Are there any changes I would like to see made in my job that would improve my effectiveness?
hmmmm.....
okay...
I am supposed to know that?!?!
I mean people... come on... give me a questionnaire and i will say agree or disagree. Do not do this to me!! :(
After great difficulty and using my low writable skills i somehow fill up the form and ask my "friend" to review it..
He says...
The matter and the language is well below your standard !
Now.. am back to square one.. am depressed.. and am clueless why am doing it !!

Slumdog Millionaire !
First of all i totally admire the little kids who acted in this movie.. I mean these are kids who are actually from slums but still just amazing talent.. I just hope they get the appreciation and limelight they deserve.
Secondly am confused about the whole "selling poverty" abroad debate.I mean i thought movies were something people made to showcase what they felt or wanted to say about something. When Mr.Amitabh does not want us to say a word about his "in"famous movie ZOOM then who gave him the right to comment about a superbly directed movie. I mean may be he should stop shooting in "foreign" locations and see what is actually happening in his own country.
The people who have not heard about our country or never knew what our country was all about might get a wrong perception about us. But sensible people have the capacity to understand that like there exists poverty in any country ( may be in lower percentages) its exists even in India. And the whole concept of selling Indian poverty is baseless because when you can sell Indian melodrama like Kabhi khushi Kabhi gham then why question. If one looks at it .. such type of movies are actually more exaggerated and people who watch it will think Indians are a bunch of emotional fools.. :D and you guys want to talk about selling things.. Bollywood is the biggest business in India and these stars sell themselves and say that Slumdog Millionaire is selling poverty abroad... what losers!!
Anyway i am happy that Rehman was finally honoured.. this should have happened long ago though !!! but as they say.. better late than never :)

The day Indians woke up!
I was shocked and furious.. I could not believe it was actually happening!! I mean is it so easy to carry out a terror attack of this magnitude in the financial capital of India?
As I was following the entire operation at The hotel Oberoi Trident.. I saw that the army, the Commandos and the mumbai police was out there fighting their heart out. Today the operation is finished.. and many of these heroes are not there to see this day. My question is did they really have to go through this in the first place? Did any Indian HAVE TO go through this trauma??? The government might call them heroes and provide some compensation to their families.. but can they assure us they wont force more people to be "heroes" and such ghastly incident will not repeat? Can they assure us that they will give more importance to the lives of their people than vote-bank politics?
I dont care which government comes to power because frankly it does not matter.. what matters is that India cannot afford to be "calm and patient". Its time for us to get united and "fight" against this terror. The government needs to come up with stringent laws and better security. We are NOT going to come back to normalcy.. India will NOT get over this or forget this... The time has come for the government to be more strict and more loyal towards its citizens..
The Mumbai incident will be the last that India will ever face... We are not going to walk on your terms dear ministers.. its high time you work for us!!
I salute all the martyrs who lost their lives in Mumbai while making sure we were safe.. We will see to it that your sacrifice and struggle is honoured.
India will fight back and the government will HAVE to start being accountable..
We will make them take up the responsibility that comes with the power that "we, the citizens of India" are giving them....
May the souls of all the victims of the Mumbai attack rest in peace :(

Am I lucky? or luckier??
"God, Why me?"..The phrase commonly used by us, the mortals.Blame God for everything because you know that He is not going to argue with you for doing so! Huh! We believe that everybody around us is somehow born with better stars than us and everything bad is bound to happen only to us.Some crave for sympathy while others sulk all their life; there are only a few who try to analyse their problems and do something to mend them. Right from losing a lottery to being fired from a job( a lot of this is happening these days!!) people like to question God. Like he has nothing better to do than make sure that you lose your job.I mean even he must be like.. come on.. why me?? :P
Anyways.. luck is something we all believe in.. but when taken in the right sense, only partially! Just read on and i bet you will feel a lot more luckier at the end of it :)
A guy is very excited to have won a trip to the US. He packs up all his funky clothes and dreams about the all the fun he is soon going to have. He is on his maiden flight and all the way he thanks god for being so kind and generous. His friends at home are totally jealous and cursing their stars. "God.. why me?" were his last words as he saw his flight crash into one of the twin towers!!
A kid is adamant and bent upon staying at home without going to his school."Its just the first day mom!", he says as his mother forces him to get ready. After a lot of banging and screaming the kid finally goes to school. All that returns from school is his charred body. The school had caught fire and he was burnt alive. The woman, who was just doing her job as a mother, lost the only one who would call her "mom".She never prayed again and curserd herself and her stars.
Do you think God would ever do anything like that? It was just because the school did not follow the fire safety norms completely. It was some person's foolishness for which somebody else had to pay.
These may be some stories for us but for somebody its their life. And still we start cursing everything and everybody around us for the most insignificant and petty things in our lives.U may be feeling lucky for not being in those situations. So can i conclude that luck has become a lot more relative and not absolute.U feel lucky when u are better off than somebody else.
Its better to respect and appreciate the little things in our lives and have faith in god that He will never want to do anything bad.. He has a great plan for us .. Things go bad when we try to mess up that plan.. So go along with God's plan :)

Welcome President..!!
As always I was debating with my friends over lunch about the current happenings. And we came to the topic of the newly elected President, Obama. Okay.. Though he is now the president of one of the most powerful nations in the world.. I think I really dint bother so much about it because my faith in elections, politicians and presidents has almost subdued.
So here we were discussing about Obama’s speeches.. I felt that the only way I could ever be able to appreciate or admire this man is if he actually was able to turn his speeches and thoughts into reality.. Not that I dint believe in him.. but not yet.. he still has a lot more to do before he can win my heart!
Anyways .. being my friends… they dint stop there and forwarded me loads of links.. obama’s speeches.
It was then that I heard that man.. I heard him with concentration and faith..
And I believed in him.. More importantly i trusted him...
Its not like I did not listen to those speeches before.. but the way he described the American middle class families and his reasoning for the racial divide existing in America started making lot more sense..
He “changed” my perception about leaders!! And I hope he brings about a lot more positive changes..
I think what India needs today is a person who can bring back the lost faith in democracy and be a leader in its true sense.. Someone like the man America has chosen to lead them!!!
